He previously worked as an anchor/reporter/sports guy for WMAZ-TV in Macon. Prior to that, Evan co-hosted the public affairs program Connect on WSPX in Syracuse.
A native of the beautiful Berkshires in western Massachusetts, Evan attended The George Washington University in D.C., getting a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, with a minor in Theater. He also earned a Master's Degree in Broadcasting and Communications from the S.I. Newhouse School in Syracuse.
Evan's work in upstate New York and Central Georgia earned him awards and recognition from the Associated Press, Georgia Association of Broadcasters, Society of Professional Journalists and the Southeast Regional Emmys. Most recently, his coverage of a series of tornadoes that swept through the Macon area in 2008 won an Edward R. Murrow award.
When not on the desk or out in the field, Evan enjoys golfing, scary movies, comedy and musical theatre. While in Georgia, he starred in 12 productions at Theatre Macon portraying a variety of characters that included The Wolf from Into the Woods, Buddy Fidler from City of Angels, and Ben the Gardener from The Secret Garden. He hopes to continue getting involved in the Lansing community he now calls home, and hopes that you'll tune in every day from 5-7 a.m. and at Noon to watch 6 News This Morning with him and Lauren Thompson.
And if you see him out and about around town, make sure to say hello, as he loves meeting new people and hearing their stories.
