WYOMING, Mich. (AP) - Imagine a traffic backup that people enjoy.
That's what's going on at the 28th Street Metro Cruise, which features classic and custom cars making their way along the roughly 15-mile route between Grandville and Kent County's Cascade Township. The free event began Friday and continues Saturday.
Organizers of the fifth annual event expect to top last year's total of 15,000 classic and custom vehicles. Crowds of 300,000 were expected.
Cruisers included Jim Noel, a Wyoming native who flew in from Arizona to enter his late father's 1952 Henry J. Corsair Deluxe. Noel says his father, former Conklin resident Frank Noel, was a car show enthusiast who spent a couple of years restoring it.
Cars weren't the only attraction for Karl Jones, who said he was able to indulge in his love of elephant ears.
