GRAYLING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan's nocturnal population is the subject of an educational forest walk in the northern Lower Peninsula.
"Critters in the Moonlight" was scheduled for Saturday at Hartwick Pines State Park in Crawford County.
Campers and visitors can travel down a lit trail through the forest, with guides providing information about nocturnal creatures. There also is a shorter, 20-minute walk intended for children.
The state Department of Natural Resources says the event is free but a State Park Motor Vehicle Permit is required to enter the park.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of Hartwick Pines.
