PETOSKEY, Mich. (AP) - A former Emmet County sheriff's deputy accused of crimes including having sex with a stalking victim while on duty has pleaded guilty to three unrelated charges.
Thirty-9-year-old Scott Ford pleaded guilty Monday to unauthorized access of a computer network and two counts of refusing to aid the sheriff.
The Carp Lake man admitted accessing the Law Enforcement Information Network to look up personal information on an ex-girlfriend.
Ford also was accused of sexual assault and soliciting a woman for drugs during a pair of traffic stops and consensual sex with the victim of an open stalking complaint. Those charges were dropped.
Ford's attorney, Joseph Kwiatkowski, tells the Petoskey News-Review the plea is "fair."
A sentencing date was not set.
