COLDWATER, Mich. (AP) - Jury selection is slated to begin for a southern Michigan man accused of shooting and killing his wife.

Jury selection starts Tuesday in Branch County Circuit Court in the trial of Tom Foley, charged with open murder in the death of 41-year-old Dee Dee Foley.

She was found Feb. 7 at their home in Branch County's Girard Township. She taught for 19 years at Union City Community Schools.

Calhoun County Circuit Judge Conrad Sindt will preside over the trial after Branch County Circuit Judge Bill O'Grady recused himself.

Defense lawyer Thomas Schaeffer has said Foley didn't kill his wife.

Foley faces life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder. The jury also may convict him on the lesser charge of second-degree murder.
