DETROIT (AP) - Chase Simon had 22 points to lead Detroit past Western Michigan 86-80 Sunday afternoon.

Eli Holman had 16 points and 12 rebounds. He also blocked three shots and had one steal. Woody Payne had 11 points and six rebounds, and Xavier Keeling added 10 points for the Titans (1-1).

David Kool led the Broncos (0-1) with a game-high 29 points and five rebounds. Flanard Whitfield added 16 points and five rebounds and Martelle McLemore had 12 points and seven rebounds.
