
This is an excellent entry level position for someone who is energetic and likes working with people and wants to work in the interesting Local Television industry.
The Sales Coordinator works in a support position to the WLNS sales staff, helping Account Managers in all facets of the sales process.
Duties include: answering the phones, welcoming visitors, coordinating production, entering orders, typing proposals, doing research, selling town packages with an account manager, working with small clients and organizing sales projects.
Working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel is extremely helpful, along with the ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines. A college degree is preferred: strong writing and math skills are a must.

According to the Associated Press, WLNS-TV has had the best broadcast website in mid-Michigan for four years in a row. We're looking for a Social Media and Internet Coordinator to keep us on top and push wlns.com to new heights.
So we need someone who knows, understands, and loves the news, the web, and social media.
The primary responsibility of this position is to keep wlns.com updated throughout the day with the latest news, pictures, and video and help spread the news through our social media sites. The job also entails engaging our viewers on Facebook and Twitter – posting questions and answering them. Your headlines, Facebook posts, and tweets need to make people want to click for more.
But that's not all. In this jack-of-all-trades position, the person will:
- Help research stories, make phone calls, and write scripts for shows
- Occasionally be on the air, fronting viewers Facebook comments
- Learn how to produce shows and serve as a back up/fill in producer when needed
We know what we're looking for – but we also want to know what you want to do. We're looking for someone who can work with our webmaster and come up with ways to make the site more engaging and exciting.
This person must play well with others.
We're the CBS affiliate in Lansing, Michigan – a great news town that's home to Michigan State University and two GM plants. We're also the state capital and we have a swimming pool. Really.
Solid writing skills are essential. A journalism degree and/or newsroom experience is required. Experience in website development and Photoshop will be helpful.
