CrimeStoppers of Mid-Michigan's Board is writing to remind you about this vital program for our community and to ask for your help. In association with Newscenter 6, CrimeStoppers of Mid-Michigan publicizes felony crimes and asks for information from citizen witnesses to lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
Callers can remain anonymous since the phone line, 517-483-7867 (483-STOP) is not connect to caller ID and witnesses are assigned coded identity numbers. For those who give information leading to an arrest, rewards of up to $1,000 can be awarded. Incoming information is monitored by the Lansing Police Department during normal working hours, and passed along to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
Crime Stoppers has been successful since it began in 1989, assisting local law enforcement agencies in our community's fight against crime.

*has received more than 1600 tips
*tips have led to more than 260 warrants
*tips have led to more than 259 arrests
*has led to the recovery of more than $268,800 in property and narcotics
*has authorized as much as $11,000 per year in awards
*has led to the arrest of a subject from the US Marshall's top 15 wanted for the shooting of a police officer (reward of $1,000 to witnesses)
*has led to the arrest of two subjects involved in the murder of a local store owner in a robbery (reward of $2,000 to witnesses)
*has led to the arrest of a murderer of a Detroit man (reward of $1,000 to witnesses)
*has led to the arrest of grave robbers (reward of $1,000 to witnesses)
*has led to the arrest of a rapist/murderer (reward of ($1,000 to witnesses)
CrimeStoppers works to get felons off the streets and into the judicial system. To continue this fight against crime, we must find additional funding! Our projected yearly budget is $15,000. The program's reward money comes from private donations from individuals and corporations, and is not funded by tax dollars.
