After winning a national online contest from Toyota, a Jackson Humane Society received a brand new van Friday.
The contest awarded 100 non-profits from across the country in dire need of transportation.
The Cascades Humane Society in Jackson have a real reason to be revved up thanks to a new vehicle they're taking home
"We worked so hard and our community came together and we were selected as one of the top 100. It's gonna make such a difference," said Debra Carmody.
"We were really excited to learn they won. We followed it on Facebook. Once we heard from toyota, we were just so happy for the mid-michigan area," said Deanna Criscuolo.
"Oh, they'll love it, my dog loves it, she just rolls all over. It's a fantastic vehicle, a 2011 Sienna," said Annie Bussom.
"So we have a lot of families in need, and they need their pets. It helps us pick up animals from rescue groups and animal control. Now we're gonna have a vehicle for years and years and we're just beyond thrilled." said Carmody.
Cascades' new vehicle is valued at more than $26,000, but how it will benefit both their cause and the community is truly priceless.
Toyota officials say five other Michigan non-profits were also awarded vehicles. If you'd like to adopt a pet from Cascades Humane Society in Jackson give them a call at 517-787-7387.
