TMSG: Meet the Jersey Girls Behind the Jersey Boys

Now playing in East Lansing: the Tony and Grammy winning musical Jersey Boys. Behind every good man is a great woman.

In this week's Tell Me Something Good, Evan Pinsonnault introduces us to the show's Jersey Girls.

Ask around backstage at the Wharton Center and you'll hear this: the story of The Four Seasons is truly told through the eyes of the three women who help turn the Jersey Boys into men.

"As the women in this show, we are active in each scene, even if small. The audience is like oh! and they recognize it's only the three of us," said Lauren.

This Jersey girl trio keep busy. They play 54 different characters throughout the show, wearing countless costumes and a wardrobe full of wigs.

"It keeps it exciting, you're always changing up, a different costume, a different wig, a different character," said Lauren.

"For us it's a completely different animal because we're constantly changing but we have to step on stage and be right in character and right with them," said Denise.

Yes, the Jersey Girls even rival the Jersey Boys with their own rockin' performance.

"The women bring the real life to the show, the four guys we're always doing the performances. When the women come on, we're in real life...they are rougher around the edges, the heart and soul, and better looking," said Jersey Boys Joseph and Preston.

Time is running out see this toe-tapping musical. Jersey Boys is playing this weekend and next at the Wharton Center. For tickets and show times call 1-800-WHARTON or visit the Wharton Center's website here.
