Lansing Assault Victim Dies After 3 Days In Hospital


A 30-year-old assault victim has died Tuesday evening after a being in critical condition for three days.

Lansing police say Travis Peterson was found on the street lying face down near Washington and Allegan New Year's Eve. He was bleeding from the head. Police suspect he was hit with an unknown object, but no weapon was recovered from the scene.

They believe the altercation started outside Brannigan's around 2 in the morning. Police have not made any arrests, but are looking for a suspect who is described as a black male with the first name Don.

He was last seen wearing black clothing, and a black shirt. Anyone with information in encouraged to call Lansing Police or Crime Stoppers at 483-STOP.
