Some soldiers serving overseas will get some valentine wishes from some local school children.
Students at Windermere Park Academy in Lansing spent the past three weeks making hundreds of cards. A mother whose husband is in the military will send off the finished valentines.
Members of the military say they look forward to the notes every year.
"It brightens the soldiers up, their spirits and stuff. It's just a great experience to know that people back home support us," said David Hall, Michigan National Guard.
"We want to show them that, we want to thank them for what we do," said Sophia Denny, first grader.
The school students have made the gifts for troops serving overseas for the past seven years.
