A Lansing man is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday after being charged with seven felonies. Authorities believe 29-year-old Dequan Taylor was responsible for the death of Brandin Sanders whose body was found in the 700 Block of Baker Street last month.
Police say Taylor, Sanders and Byron Coney attempted to rob a man who lived on Baker Street and a fight broke out.
Gunshots went off between the man from Baker Street and one of the robbers. After the activity the homeowner was injured and Sanders was dead.
Taylor's preliminary hearing will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. 6 News will continue to cover any new developments of the trial.
