Detective Describes Finding Missing Boy

A Lansing police detective told a judge how she found a missing boy in the home of a convicted sex offender.

That's according to a story by our media partners at mlive.com/lansing.

The detective took the stand today in a preliminary hearing against Franklyn Carey, who is accused of sexually assaulting the 13-year-old boy numerous times.

The boy went missing for a month back in December before the detective found him.

"He had his head down, his face was in his hands and he was crying," she said.

Today's testimony was the first step in a hearing designed to see if there's enough evidence to send the case to trial.
