A new study from Michigan State University shows that quality public schools are good for everyone.
That includes those with and without school-aged children at home. This report also concluded that everyone should play a role in maintaining them.
In the past, senior citizens and others who don't have children in school argued that they should be exempt from paying school taxes because they don't benefit from the schools.
But the MSU study says that's not true. Researchers found a strong relationship between those who were satisfied with their communities and the quality of the schools in those communities.
