Gas Price Increase By 35 Cents A Gallon

Posted:

Gas prices are on the rise. In some areas of Michigan prices have spiked about 35 cents a gallon.

Across the nation prices are at record highs for February. According to gasbuddy.com dot the average price for a gallon of regular in the Lansing area is $3.48 cents.

For many drivers it means making some tough decisions.

"Well, 40 bucks used to fill my car up. I got eleven dollars, eleven gallons of gas for $40. I'm not happy with it. Not one bit," said Joespeh Blanks, driver.

"It affects where we go. We haven't been able to see family out of town in awhile because of it. I have a stepdaughter that lives in Albion that I don't get to see because I can't afford the gas to go get her," said Awna Ari, driver.

Gasbuddy.com senior petroleum analyst Patrick Dehaan says "As we continue to move towards warmer weather gasoline prices will follow with prices accelerating higher at a faster pace come late March into April. So if motorists think this is bad, they should really hold on to their chairs."
