Fat Tuesday is just a day away and bakeries across mid-Michigan are getting ready pumping out hundreds of paczkis.
Roma Bakery in Lansing is busy baking up traditional treats.
"Of course we've put our own spin on it, with Fat Tuesday coming," said John Dann with Roma Bakery, "It's the beginning of lent with Ash Wednesday and then there's a fasting that goes on and so before the fasting goes on you want to eat the fatty foods."
"The jelly are close to about 850 in calories and when we specially fill it with ricotta cheese, knocks it up to about 1,200," said Dann, "We're going to be extremely busy today and tomorrow, we'll sell out."
Dann says they'll probably make somewhere around 2,000-3,000 paczkis Monday.
"If they've ever tried it once, they're back the next year and every year after," said Dann.
