Hundreds of thousands are in New Orleans Tuesday for the big Mardi Gras celebration.
The Zulu parade kicked off the party Tuesday morning. Thousands of people lined St. Charles Avenue hoping to catch some beads and have some fun.
Many camped out overnight to get a good spot. It's a big party.
"Well thank you very much I just came out of hiding to come out here for the special day. Fat Tuesday is my favorite in New Orleans," said Paul Thrasher, Elvis impersonator.
This big party pumps about $500 million into the New Orleans economy.
All of the wild celebrations come to an end at midnight, that's when the holy season of lent begins.
