Parts of Washington Ave. in Lansing will be closed as Consumers Energy crews work to repair a gas leak.
The southbound lanes of Washington will be closed between Malcolm X/Main Street and South Street.
A detour will be posted, urging drivers to use Cedar and Baker Streets instead.
The repair should take a few hours, and roads are expected to open again by early Wednesday evening.
Access to local area residents and businesses, adjacent to actual work areas, will be maintained during this project. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes to minimize delays.
