Two Local Animal Shelters Get Increased Funding

Three local animal shelters will get some money from the state.

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has awarded the Jackson County Animal Shelter just over $9,000. The Livingston County and Ionia County Animal Shelters will get $10,000.

The money comes from the Animal Welfare Fund and helps pay for care as well as surgery to spay and neuter pets.
