Lawmaker's License Suspended After Ruling

Posted:

Our media partners at MLive.com report Jay Todd, the examiner who presided over Bob Genetski's hearing appealing a license suspension, revoked Genetski's license effective April 9. The suspension will be effective for one calendar year.

The Saugatuck Republican was ticketed in East Lansing on January 19.

Todd determined evidence suggests Genetski "unreasonably" refused a breathalyzer test following his drunken driving arrest.

Genetski can appeal the ruling to Ingham County Circuit Court. He can also file an appeal on the grounds that the suspension causes personal hardship.

Genetski's attorney Mike Nichols says he and his client will discuss whether to appeal.

His drunken driving case is pending.
