UPDATE: Police Say Alcohol, Speed Factors In Fatal Crash

Posted:

Police say alcohol may be partially responsible for a deadly overnight accident in Jackson County.

Brett Moore, a 29-year-old man from Ludington, rolled his truck several times coming to a stop on someone's yard.

It happened just before midnight in Henrietta Township.

Police say Moore was heading north on Meridian Road and missed the curve south of Cowing Grove.

Moore's car left the road, flipped over, and came to rest against some trees. Moore was thrown from the car.

Along with the alcohol, police say Moore was apparently traveling too fast for the curve, and was not wearing a seatbelt.
