State House To Vote On Tax Cuts

Posted:

State Lawmakers in the House are expected to vote on two separate pieces of tax cut legislation on Wednesday.

The first bill would drop the individual tax rate by a tenth of a percent and the other would increase the personal exemption.  That provision would be phased in over the next several years.

Republicans say the bills would give $90 Million dollars back to tax payers.  However, Democrats say the savings are far less than the hundreds of millions of dollars tax payers paid in last year's tax increase.

If approved, both bills would head to the State Senate for consideration.
