Hundreds Rally For Religious Freedom At Capitol

Thousands of Christians gathered today across Michigan to protest the Obama adminstration's contraception mandate.

The Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally drew more than 1,000 people to the front of the Capitol in downtown Lansing.

The rally is one of several actions taken by activists to protest the Obama Adminstration's requirement that most health care plans include birth control. Catholic leaders say this provision violates the church's teachings as well as their own conscious.

Traverse City, Grand Rapids, and Howell are among the 13 other cities in Michigan that put on protests. This is all part of a nationwide movement to protest what organizers say is a growing encroachment on religious freedom.
