Hyatt Place to Come to Lansing

Posted:

Another major multi-million-dollar project just announced is a new business-class hotel coming to north-east Lansing.

Eastwood officials announced the addition of a $15 million Hyatt Place to the Heights at Eastwood.

The six story hotel will have more than 100 rooms and is expected to bring in more than 100 jobs.

The Lansing downtown development authority says it's the first time in years for a hotel of this type to come to the area.

"One of the things with a hotel and the Heights of Eastwood, we are feeling like the bucket is getting bigger for Lansing. The more attraction we have here, the more people will come here from Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids and south eastern Michigan. And that has been our focus, not to reallocate dollars in the region, but to make the bucket bigger," said Steven Haywood, the executive director.

Developers expect to complete the project next summer.
