Police Chase Ends in Crash

Posted:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Five people were hospitalized with one in serious condition Monday afternoon after a 4-car crash sparked by a police chase near MLK and Holmes in Lansing.

Police say the incident started when three suspects robbed an unidentified location and began firing shots.

Upon locating the suspect vehicle, police say they tried to make a traffic stop. However, the vehicle kept going, causing a brief police pursuit, officials say. The vehicle was traveling southbound on MLK and crossed over into the northbound lanes, eventually hitting three other vehicles: two SUVs and a van.

A police officer suffered minor injuries while pursuing one of the suspects on foot after the crash.
