Because of the dangerously dry weather conditions, the Lansing Area Fire Departments have ruled on an open burn ban effective Friday at 7a.m. until further notice.
The areas included are Delta Township, Delhi Township, East Lansing, Lansing, Lansing Township, Mason and Meridian Township.
Officials also urge residents to use care in any 4th of July celebrations.
