UPDATE: Crews Stop Search on Grand River

UPDATE: Police say the person who made the report changed his story and wasn't reliable, so that search has been called off.

There are conflicting reports about if or how the person may have ended up in the water.

Police say a witness told them a man went into the water to get his dog before he disappeared.

Firefighters tell 6 News a witness saw a man who jumped from his kayak just before 10 a.m.

We still have a crew on the scene and are efforting a live report on 6 News at Noon.

 

ORIGINAL STORY: Lansing firefighters are searching the Grand River near Old Town after reports that someone went missing in the water.

Firefighters say a man went in the river near the fish ladder near Turner Street to get his dog and that he hasn't been seen since.

6 News has a crew on the scene and will update this story on air and have the latest on 6 News at Noon.
