UPDATE: 'Barricaded Man' Now in Police Custody

Posted: Updated:

A man has barricaded himself in a home early Thursday afternoon.

An Emergency Support Team arrived on scene, including a tanker, and Michigan State Police were in charge.

It all started on Plains Road between Gale and Waverly around 10a.m. Thursday morning for a domestic situation where his wife was assaulted.

All of those inside the home, including the man's wife, an adult male, adult female, two kids between the ages of 6 and 8 and a dog, were able to get out of the home unharmed.

The gunman was taken into police custody after nearly an eight hour stand-off.

A year ago, police were dispatched for a weapons complaint where a gun was fired, so they are taking every precaution.
