Early Morning Fire Destroys Local Building


Fire ripped through a local business early Friday morning and now investigators are trying to figure out what sparked it.

Flames sparked just after 1a.m. on West Grand River Avenue in Watertown Township on the site of Marsh Excavation.

Fire officials say the building was engulfed in flames when they got there. It contained offices and a workshop.

Crews controlled the flames and had them out in less than two hours, but fire officials say the building is a total loss.

No one was inside when the fire started and thankfully, no one was hurt, but crews say they'll continue investigating in Clinton County until the cause of the fire is determined.
