Michigan Cops Catch 126 Drunk Drivers Over 4th of July Week

Police across Michigan arrested 126 drunk drivers during a campaign centered around the 4th of July.

Almost two dozen of those drivers were "super drunk" (with a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit - which means stricter penalties).

Cops also busted an extra 30 people were busted for drug-related reasons and caught 130 fugitives.

They also handed out more than 120 people tickets for seat belt and child seat tickets, 307 for speeding, and 925 tickets for various other reasons.

This was all a part of the more than 3,700 traffic stops between July 1st and July 8th as part of their "Over the Limit, Under Arrest" crackdown.

Three people also died in separate crashes. Alcohol does not seem to be to blame in any of those cases. That's also down from the eight people who died over the holiday last year.
