Posted:

Police discovered an active meth lab while on a child welfare check in Jackson.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at a home in the 900 block of Waterloo Street.

Jackson police, along with officers from the Narcotics Enforcement Team, found all kinds of materials in the basement. They also found two marijuana plants, then later found four more plants outside.

A grandparent took the two children, ages two and seven, who lived at the home.

The 35-year-old woman who lived at the house will likely be arrested.
