Overnight Fire in Jackson Forces Nine People from Their Homes

An overnight fire in Jackson forced nine people from their homes.

Jackson Fire Officials say the flames broke out at 11pm Wednesday night on the 9-hundred block of Francis Street. The person living in the apartment was not home at the time, but tenants saw smoke coming from the upstairs.

The building suffered from smoke and fire damage, so the Red Cross is working to assist those displaced.

No one was injured in the fire and the cause is still under investigation.
