Jackson Playground Destroyed

JACKSON -- Jackson police say two boys have confessed to starting a playground fire.

This all happened Saturday around 3:30 p.m. at Partnership Park.

Police tell 6 News the 8 and 9-year-old boys were playing with a lighter when the rubber mulch underneath the plastic playground equipment caught fire.

Fire officials say the smoke could be seen for blocks.

Police say it's now up to the prosecutor to decide if charges will be filed against the boys.

No one was hurt.
