Man Gets Hit by Car Biking to Work


A man is now in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle around 8a.m. Tuesay.

Police belive Fowlerville resident Daniel Paternoster was riding his bike to work on Grand River in Handy Township going eastbound when he was hit from behind by a car.

Paternoster was wearing a helmet at the time as taken to a local hospital in Lansing.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that 55 year old Fowlerville resident Daniel Paternoster was riding his bicycle to work eastbound on the southern shoulder of Grand River when he was struck from behind by a 2008 Dodge Avenger driven by 50 year old Webberville resident Robin Fournier.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, but police are looking into if the driver, Robin Fournier, may have been distracted.

This incident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff Department Traffic Safety Bureau.
