Boy Badly Burned at a Lansing Park

Posted:

An 11-year-old boy is recovering after being badly burned over the weekend.

This all started to unfold just before 6p.m. Monday on Lansing's south side.

Police tell us a group of kids were playing with either matches or lighters in Graves Park, when one of them got badly burned. The Fire Marshal says it's possible an aersol can exploded.

The 11-year-old boy was transported to Sparrow then airlifted to U of M Hospital where he is now in stable condition. The fire department is leading the investigation and we are working to learn more from them on just what happened and why.

The Fire Marshal is handling the investigation and says he still has to talk with more people.

As investigators continue to work to put the pieces together, we will of course bring you the latest as we know more.
