Judge Arraigns Suspect in Weekend Shooting


UPDATE: Police have found and arrested Kelvin "Monroe" Bates.

He was arraigned by Judge Clarke on Wednesday for one count of homicidi/open murder, one count of assault with intent to murder, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of felony firearm. He is being held without bond.

Bates is due back for a pre-exam conference on September 11 in front of Judge DeLuca.


ORIGINAL: Lansing Police are asking the public for help in finding a Lansing resident.

Kelvin "Monroe" Bates is a person of interest in the August 31st shooting death of 36-year-old Micah Arnold. He is described as a black, 24-year-old male, with brown eyes and black hair with braids. He is 5'6" and 125 pounds.

Persons with information concerning the whereabouts of Kelvin "Monroe" Bates are requested to call Crime Stoppers (517) 483-STOP or the LPD Tip line at (517) 847-411.
