Jackson's Fire Department battled three structure fires in the last 48 hours, two of which they are investigating as "suspicious."
Firefighters kicked off the Labor Day holiday with a house fire on Francis Street. Shortly after, they got another call for a second house fire on West Washington.
In both of cases, the houses were empty, electricity shut off. Factors, officials say, easily point to something suspicious.
A third house fire south of town on Second Street went up in flames Tuesday morning. An empty house again, but a woman did live here. Thankfully, she was away at work.
With investigations into two suspicious fires, the work is far from over. Investigators aren't ruling out anything at this point and say the two suspicious fires might be related.
