Lansing's Land Bank Sells 100th Home

Posted:

Lansing's Land Bank marked its 100th sale since it began in 2005 Thursday.

The project's goal is taking abandoned or foreclosed homes off the market, refurbishing them and reselling them to homeowners.

"I think it is a solid message as a city could ask for. It's a mayors dream. I think there is attraction to the richness to the urban environment. We are lucky to have the product at the same time those societal changes are happening," said Chairman and Treasurer Eric Schetzing.

This year alone, the Land Bank has sold 38 homes.
