Michigan State University students donated hundreds of dollars worth of new school supplies to Shabazz Academy Friday.
The items were collected during MSU's annual "Stuff the Bus" campaign.
School officials say the program helps immensely because there've been times when they've had to to reach into their own pockets for pay for supplies.
"It means so much when an organization like this program steps up and sees the need and comes and wraps their arms around us. It just means so much" said Administrative Assistant Haywood Edwards Shabazz.
The boxes were packed full of colored pensils, crayons, paper and even hand sanitizer and tissues.
