Fire Department Assists Woman from Burning House

A Mason home went up in flames around 1:30p.m. Monday.

Firefighters responded to the fire on the 400 block of Barnes Street. Crews worked for about an hour to put it out. They believe it started in the kitchen or living room area.

One woman escaped out the second story window with the help of a Mason police officer.

She was taken to a local hospital, but it is unknown if she suffered any injuries.
