Police Arrest Thieves Stealing Scrap Metal

Two Lansing men are behind bars after police say they were caught stealing scrap metal from a salvage yard.

It happened around 12:30a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Baker Street, just south of I-496.

When officers arrived, they saw a vehicle full of scrap metal sitting in the parking lot. They say the two men came out of the salvage yard with more parts shortly after their arrival.

Police arrested the two, ages 19 and 27.

They recovered about 40 items.
