Police Arrest Suspect for Veteran Memorial, Capitol Vandalism

Police have arrested the man they say is responsible for vandalizing the Veterans Memorial and State Capitol last week.

20-year-old Jeffery Scott Handley of Lansing was arrested by Lansing Communicy College Public Safety on Wednesday. The investigation was then submitted to the Ingham County Prosecutor's office for review.

Handley was arraigned in 54-A District Court in front of Judge Louise Alderson on one count of malicious destruction of tombs and memorials, one count of malicious destruction of a building and one count of malicious destruction of a building.

His pre-exam conference is Monday at 9a.m. and the prelimary hearing will be Thursday, September 20th at 1:30p.m.
