EAST LANSING, MI -- An 18-year-old MSU student from China faces potential prison time after police say he stabbed three people in a large-scale fight last week.

According to our media partners at MLive.com, Yanlin Li was arraigned Saturday in East Lansing District Court on three counts of felony assault.

East Lansing police were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Shore Drive late Thursday evening for a reported fight involving about 40 people. According to police, it all started around 11 p.m. with a confrontation at a Lansing restaurant.

Police arrested Li Friday. They say he used a knife during the fight, injuring three other Chinese MSU students. He was granted bond, but instructed not to contact the victims.
