The Clinton County Sheriff tells 6 News they think that suspect who left a homemade bomb in the dashboard of a truck Tuesday is in Georgia.
They're now working with police there to track him down.
It all started with a break-in Tuesday morning at ALR Trailers in St Johns. Investigators think the dispute is personal and that no one is in danger.
Clinton County Sheriff Wayne Kangas believes the bomb was set Monday night, near Old 127 and Lansing Street, just outside of St. Johns.
"The person tried to ignite it, it failed," said Kangas.
When it was found Tuesday morning, the bomb was in working order, but didn't go off. A bomb squad was called in to detonate the device, but officials say there wasn't a threat to evacuate local businesses.
"We know that the device was used primarily to destroy a vehicle, that the device couldn't go off by itself, it had to be ignited and set off by someone," said Kangas.
Investigators tell 6 News this was an isolated incident and that the suspect and victim know each other and been previously fighting.
"It's about some property between the two individuals," said Kangas. "It was targeted to get even with an individual and to destroy his vehicle at this point."
Some shop owners on the road are a little shaken up by the incident.
"Usually we see police officers going up an down the road, but we didn't see anything so we're really surprised about it," said Tamara Davis, an employee at Cutters Point. "You never hear anything this dramatic happen here."
No one was hurt in the incident.
