Hillsdale Man, 25, Killed in Fiery Crash on US 12

SOMERSET CENTER, Mich. (AP) - Police say a 25-year-old Hillsdale man whose vehicle crashed and caught fire in southern Michigan has died.

Michigan State Police say in a release the crash happened about 10:25 p.m. Thursday near Somerset Center. Police say the man had been driving west on U.S. 12, when he lost control. The man's vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a telephone and a tree before catching fire.

The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle.

MLive.com says police suspect speed may have played a role in the crash.
