The Jackson Sheriff's Office is investigating a robbery at the Jackson City County Credit Union on Francis street, just south of the city limits in Summit Township. Officials got the call around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Bank tellers told deputies they never saw a gun. The man did get away with an undisclosed amount of money.
There's no good description at this time, but deputies say the man was wearing a white Halloween mask. The suspect got away in a white car, possibly an Olds Alero or a ford Taurus, though the sheriff says the public should not to get too focused on the car's description, since the suspect could have access to multiple cars.
This is the second time this particular credit union has been robbed recently. It was robbed early in the summer and the sheriff credits Facebook for helping catch the man who did it. This is also the fourth bank/credit union robbery in the last month and a half. Sheriff Steven Rand says they aren't ruling out the possibility that they could be related and are teaming local agencies with the FBI to solve them.
The sheriff is asking for the public's help and released an image from surveillance video. If you have any information, you're asked to call Detective Andrew Sullivan 517-768-7932.
