Fire Outs Families, Damages Duplex

Posted:

A duplex fire broke out Monday night in Dewitt Township on the 3000 block of Parkwood. Fire officials were dispatched just before 8p.m.

The fire appears to have started on one side of the house and traveled up into the attic. Officials aren't sure if it started inside or outside of the house, but that side was severely damaged. The other duplex was slightly water damaged and suffer some structural damage. Neither side is currently liveable due to a power outage in the whole unit.

Three people were living in each unit, two adults and one child. Officials say no one hurt.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
