BWL Rate Increase Goes into Effect



The Lansing Board of Water and Light approved an increase in electric and steam rates last year which goes into effect today.

Residential and commercial electric rates have increased by 3 and 3.25 percent and steam rates are facing a 2 percent increase. 

A typical residential electric customer will see an average increase of $2.67 in their bill. This rate increase will affect 96,000 electric customers and more than 200 steam customers.
