Motorcyclist Killed in US-127 Crash Identified

Family and friends are mourning the loss of 37-year-old Nicholas Hirsch of Saint Johns.

Hirsch was killed Tuesday night after he lost control of his motorcycle.

Ingham county sheriff's officials say Hirsch was traveling at a high rate of speed on northbound US-127 when he crashed just north of the Cedar Street exit.

Deputies say the accident involved just his motorcycle and that traffic had to be diverted into the southbound lanes for several hours while crews cleaned up the site.

He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
